At a major petrochemical plant, there was a release of approximately 100 gallons of epichlorhydrin (ECH) into an area surrounding an above ground storage tank. The plant was immediately concerned about the flammability threat as well as the harmful effects to their employees and the surrounding community.

This customer stocks Vapor Tech's Carbonil XT product and immediately dispatched a field services group to apply the product over the entire spill area.

The field services group used a chemical foaming device to cover the area in about 15-20 minutes. Fifteen minutes after the treatment, they reported very little fume discharge and a considerable reduction of odors.

After thirty minutes, the spill was considered safe and was collected for disposal. The use of Carbonil XT help avert this possible hazardous situation.
